F A Q’s

Q: Are personalized tags available?

A: No, not at this time.  This is not available to local Universities either.  This option would require an amendment to the current bill.

Q: Are these tags available for Motorcycles or Boat trailers?

A: No, Not at this time.  They are only available for passenger cars & light trucks.

Q: Are handicap tags available?

A: No

Q: Can I pick my own number?

A: No, sequential numbers will be assigned by the state.

Q: Do any of the proceeds go to Auburn?

A: No, not the way the amendment was written.  The monies go into the State’s General Fund.  If we want this changed, we need to contact our legislator & request that an amendment be made to allow a portion of the fee go to our University.    If someone would like to tackle this project, let us know.

Q: How will I know it is time for me to pick up my tag?

A: You will be contacted by the Central MS Auburn Club.  At that time, you must go immediately to pick up the tag at the county seat.

Q: If my tag is scheduled to expire in August and I am notified in July that my tag is ready to be picked up, can I just wait until my tag expires in August to go pick it up?

A: If you wait, there is a good possibility that you will be charged the $51 fee again.  The best way to avoid this is go pick up the tag immediately!

Q: What if I just renewed my regular tag when I get notified that my AU tag is ready to be picked up?

A: Simply go to the tag office and switch your current tag for your auburn tag.  You will not incur additional cost.

Q: Do I have to be an Auburn Alumni to purchase one of these tags?

A: No, but you need to bleed Orange & Blue!

Q: What if I have additional questions?

A: E-Mail them to us at centralmsauburnclub@gmail.com
